How much water can you filter with a ZeroWater filter?

Tastes vary. Can you taste the difference between tap water and filtered water? Filtered water tastes better and contains far fewer harmful substances. That's reason enough to filter your water with ZeroWater. But how much water can you filter with a ZeroWater filter?

ZeroWater is the best-tested filter, the only filter that reduces the TDS (total dissolved solids) value to 0. Optimally clean water.

The TDS value of your tap water

The TDS value of tap water varies from household to household. This is due to many different factors. For example, do you still have lead water pipes in your home? This is often the case in houses built before 1960. If this is the case, there is a risk that the lead content of your water is much higher than that of your neighbors if they have already replaced all their lead water pipes. However, other substances in tap water, such as calcium and magnesium, can also cause a high TDS value. Depending on where you live and where the water comes from, the TDS value may be higher or lower.

TDS values vary everywhere

The TDS value of tap water therefore varies from household to household. Are you curious about the value of your tap water? Then carry out a TDS measurement. This will quickly tell you how many dissolved solids are in your tap water. How much water you can filter with a ZeroWater filter depends on the TDS value of your tap water. For example, does your measurement show a low TDS value? Then your filter will be able to filter a larger amount of water. Simply because the filter collects all dissolved solids. The higher the TDS value of the tap water, the faster the filter will become saturated and need to be replaced.

Liters and values

In general, with a TDS value between 50 and 200, the filter is sufficient for about 95 to 200 liters of water. If the TDS value is higher, e.g., between 200 and 300, the filter is sufficient for about 55 to 95 liters of water. With a TDS value of 300 to 400, the filter can handle between 30 and 55 liters of water. Are you curious about how much water you consume per day? Without realizing it, you consume a lot of tap water in a day. On average, an adult consumes about 127.5 liters of tap water per day. For children, the average is 103 liters of tap water per day. Of course, you don't have to filter all of this water, because it also includes the water you use to flush the toilet, brush your teeth, shower, water plants, and so on. The average amount of tap water an adult uses per day for drinking is about 1.8 liters. This includes the tap water you drink directly or use to make coffee or tea, for example.

This makes it easy to calculate when it is time to replace your ZeroWater filter. Replace the filter in good time so that you can always rely on well-filtered and optimally clean water. You can measure the TDS value of the filtered water with a TDS meter. Does the meter show “006” or higher? Then replace your filter immediately.
